Brian Moore - Astra B
Brian Moore is a perfect example of our Rally offering. Having dusted off his Astra B rally car from his youth - Brian set about re-creating a “Works” rally car, which would be competitive against much more modern machinery.
To keep his existing period wheels, we tried numerous caliper iterations before settling on the sculptured CP6760 caliper - which still needed CNC machining to fit perfectly into the wheel. Married with AP Racing discs, bespoke mounting bells with integral spacers, it all looked great on the Pilbeam strut.
Competing with his son Ben on the Brean Stages Rally (a round of the ASWMC championship) at 75th and finishing 27th overall - picking up the PIAA Lighting best under 25 award.
Brian is not finished yet, and has a significant engine upgrade planned for later in the year.
Richard Moore is creating a somewhat unusual Mercedes SLK rallycross car fitted with a BMW V8 engine. Brakes are particularly important on the tarmac sections, and Richard opted for CP5040-2/3 calipers at the front and CP5040-10/11 calipers to the rear. Again using AP Racing discs and BG Developments bespoke mounting bells and carriers – the results were just what he needed.
|For maximum performance we have lightened and floated the front and rear disc assemblies for the Mercedes SLK rallycross car. Made in high strength aerospace grade 2014 J6 and hard anodised for durability, the SLK set up should be ideal for the new season|
